As we work towards the 0.9.8 release, here are temporary installation notes for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. We hope to automate most if not all of these steps in the finall installer:

Windows 32-bit (eg XP)

Download an unzip as c:\GTK:

• GTK+ bundle 2.24.10-20120208

Download and install the following, in sequence:

• python-2.7.2.msi (32-bit)
• pygobject-2.28.3.win32-py2.7.exe
• pycairo-1.8.10.win32-py2.7.exe
• pygtk-2.24.0.win32-py2.7.exe
• numpy-1.6.1-win32-superpack-python2.7.exe
• matplotlib-1.1.0.win32-py2.7.exe
• pyreadline-1.7.1.win32.exe
• ipython-0.12.win32-setup.exe

After that, the 0.9.8-beta ASCEND installer should install without problems.
