It is simple to build a Debian package for ASCEND, at least on Ubuntu systems, by making use of our bespoke build tool, [[dtar]].

To make Debian packages for other Linux distros, you will still be able to use [[dtar]], but you will need to prepare a modified set of files in the 'debian.tar.gz' archive.
