Jose Zapata (homepage) worked on ASCEND as part of GSOC2009.
His contribution was improved support in the data reader and ability to read tabular data from CSV files. He implemented a constrained spline interpolation algorithm that gives better performance from interpolated data when used with ASCEND's nonlinear solvers such as QRSlv.
